Evening Echo

A man arrested on suspicion of murdering 24-year-old Dean Boshell has been released without charge, police have revealed.

Mr Boshell was found with a single gunshot to the back of his head on allotments in Manchester Drive, Leigh, in February.

A 20-year-old man from Southend was quizzed in connection with the death in May.

However, an Essex Police spokesman confirmed the man reappeared for bail at Rayleigh police station on Wednesday and was released without any charge.

He added that detectives from the Rayleigh major incident team are continuing their inquiries but have so far made no more arrests.

Mr Boshell had been released from prison just five months before his death after serving a short sentence for a string of burglaries

He had been moving around bedsits in the Southend area in the weeks up to his death.

Mr Boshell's parents' Fergus and Beverley Boshell, who separated a number of years ago, both still live in Basildon.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Boshell died as a result of a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
