Dear Mr Coxall
In reply to your letter of May 23, I wish to state my very grave reservations about your investigative team approaching Tachonet to discuss evidence they have provided me in relation to my son's death. As you have already tried to gain this information by deception.
In the past I have provided you with information concerning Scott Bromley, bragging on several occasions about his father having murdered my son. You failed to interview him on those claims. In addition I also passed on information from within Belmarsh prison relating to admissions by David and Simon Bromley at association in prison whereby they claimed to have murdered two people - one being my son.
On that instance they used the words as follows: "Yes, we done two of them. One was dumped in a lorry to cover it up and the other we done with a pitchfork and we buried him." Again, you made no efforts whatsoever in relation to that information.
You have also been given information about two Essex police officers visiting Simon Bromley and Glen Nichols at Belmarsh Prison just prior to your investigation. The words used by Nichols were to mark our cards. To keep quiet about what happened to my son Lee.
When other inmates became suspicious for fear of a deal being struck, Bromley and Nichols claimed they had to be re - finger printed rubbish. This information was passed to Chief Superintendent Will Kennedy at the High Courts of Justice.
This would point to dubious behaviour by these officers. What have you done about this, nothing as usual!
ACC Liam Brigginshaw has gone on record saying interviews with fire service personnel who attended the scene of my son's death have been carried out. I now have clear evidence, in writing that these interviews were never carried out. Either Mr Brigginshaw is ignorant of this, or he has lied.
Either way, I have absolutely no faith in entrusting either of you with information and therefore my consent to speak to Tachonet is denied.
To speak plainly, I believe you both to be lying, deceitful officers who have attempted to hide the truth of my son's death and also the corruption and unlawful behaviour of Essex police officers involved in the first investigation or should I say non investigation.
The reasons being for the protection of Essex police's integrity of other ongoing operations (and including failed operations such as Operation Volunteer) into corrupt officers.
Yours Sincerely
Les Balkwell
